The Youngstown post office was broken into on the morning of Nov. 3. ECA Review/Submitted

In the early morning hours of November 3, 2020 an unknown suspect or suspects broke into the Youngstown Post Office and attempted to steal a safe that was inside.

The suspects wrapped tow straps around the safe and attempted to drag it out of the building.

They were unsuccessful in getting the safe nor was the safe opened.

It is unclear if they gave up on trying to remove the safe or if they were interrupted by a passing vehicle etc.

A flat deck pickup truck was seen driving in Youngstown at approximately 3 a.m. on Nov. 3.

This is believed to be a suspect vehicle as it is similar to a vehicle that also almost stole a safe from the Czar ATB on Oct. 15, 2020.

The police are asking anyone with surveillance cameras to have a look for any suspicious activity in the early morning hours of November 3 prior to 5:30 AM.

Anyone with information about these crimes can contact the Hanna detachment at (403)854-3391.
