Kathy Yeats was awarded the 2017 Adult Female Player of the Year by Softball Alberta on Sat. Oct. 14 in Camrose at Softball Alberta Annual Awards Banquet.
Kathy lives in Edmonton with her family but also has the family farm in Coronation, Ab.
Kathy has played a number of years with the Calahoo Erins in the Senior Women’s Fastpitch division, representing Calahoo and Alberta at the Canadian Softball Championships a number of times – this year they placed second after losing in the bottom of the 11th inning to Whitby, Ont. at the 2017 Canadian Women’s Fastpitch Championships in Brampton, Ont.
The Calahoo team also travelled to Surrey, BC this summer to compete in the Canada Cup Women’s Division, playing against teams including Argentina, Australia, Japan and the Senior and Junior Canadian National Teams.
Kathy plays center field and has been an inspiration to many as she continues to compete at the highest level of fastball in Canada.
