Greg Hildebrand feeds grass into a homemade wooden baler on his acreage outside of Provost. Hildebrand and his partner, Bernie Cosgrove recently moved to the area and although they currently only have one calf and a goat, were in search of a cost effective way of feeding their livestock through the winter. The couple found the plans for home built baler online and spent around $100 in building costs. Each bale takes around six minutes to hand compress, not including the grass cutting and drying time.
