
Frances Mae Wilson
1927 – 2020
Frances Wilson passed away peacefully Nov.30, 2020 at Our Lady of the Rosary Continuing Care Facility in Castor, Alta. at the age of 93.
Frances Mae Wilson was born in Cereal, Alta. May 17, 1927 one of seven children.
She lived in Calgary for some time and also farmed in the Rimbey area.
In 1969, she moved to Pine Lake, Alta. to run the Shell Service Station. She then moved to Red Deer, Alta. where she lived for many years and worked in housekeeping.
She moved back to Rimbey to retire with her two sisters.
Frances was never one to sit still very long.
She loved to walk, walking miles every day.
In the summers she loved taking care of her many flowers and she loved her stuffed bears and her beautiful doll collection.
Frances is survived by her one daughter Diana (Harold) Peters of Halkirk, Alta.; three grandchildren: Tammy (Stuart) Evans of Kangaroo Valley, Australia, Shanna (Steve) Bishell of Consort, Alta., and Shawn Peters of Halkirk, Alta.; and seven great-grandchildren: Jaycee Bond, Nerissa Evans, Emily, Kegan, and Nathan Bishell, Alexis Richmond and Mackenna Peters.
She is also survived by two brothers: Bill and Robert; as well as many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers: Harold and Lestor Barton; two sisters: Mildred Anderson and Margaret Wilson and her son Glenn.
Frances (Fran, Grandma, Granny) will be remembered for her strong will, her love to tease and be teased back, her great cooking (especially cabbage rolls), her huge western movie collection that she built up over the years (John Wayne being her favourite), and her red hair.
She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Donations will be gratefully accepted to the Alzheimer Society or Alberta Cancer Foundation.
