Willis

Rodney Eugene Willis was born in Fleet, Alta. on Sept. 11, 1955 to Dennis and Jessie (Ellis) Willis.

He passed away suddenly after a short illness on Mon. Sept. 23, 2019 at the age of 64 years while at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton.

Rod was a surveyor by trade for many years, taking him to many parts of the world.

In 1996, Rod and Dorothy returned to Fleet and purchased property and started a farm.

Rod was predeceased by his father Dennis and mother Jessie; brother Richard (Dick) and brother-in-law Lawrence.

Rod leaves to mourn his passing the love of his life Dorothy Walker; step-son Adam (Yvonne) Smith; grandchildren Emily and Elisha Smith all of Wabush NL; sister-in-law Eleanor Ramsey (Willis); sister Bonnie O’Hara; brother Bruce (Carie) and sister Tammy (Greg) Frank.

He also leaves many nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; as well as two aunts and numerous cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made in Rod’s memory to Paintearth Lodge, Box 209 Castor, AB T0C 0X0 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

A heartfelt thank you to all the medical staff of the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton and the Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital, Castor, Alta. for the excellent care and to all those family and friends for their love and support during this time.

A very special thank you goes out to Harley and Jan, Joey, David and Nancy, Lisa and Garth, as well as Sue and Bev for stepping in and going above and beyond to make sure things continued on when we could not.

Family and friends are invited to join in attendance at the Fleet Hall on Mon., Oct. 14, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. to enjoy sharing coffee, cake and many memories.
