Willis, Darcy Campbell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darcy Campbell Willis on June 19, 2020.

He was born in Lacombe on June 2, 1956.

At a young age, Darcy moved with his parents to Drumheller, Alta.

From there he moved to Castor, Hanna and back to Castor where he finished high school.

After graduating from university with a degree in agricultural economics, he worked most of his career as a senior trade analyst in Edmonton.

After retirement, he settled in Drumheller where he resided until his passing.

Darcy was an avid hunter, antique and artifact collector and his favourite “toy” was his red “66 Chevelle.

In recent years he was so pleased to be able to pass his hunting enthusiasm and skills on to his special nephew and best friend, Matt.

Darcy was a devoted son, brother and much-loved Uncle D.

Darcy is survived by his Dad and Mom – Joe and Shirley Willis, brother Rick (Debbie), sister Jackie (Les), and nieces and nephew Richelle (Joel), Alex (Cam), Matthew, Kennedy (Lance), Erin (Wade), great-niece Emma and a number of extended family members.

Also left to mourn Darcy’s passing are his many friends and lifelong Hanna school mates.

He and Bill Stubbs went on many antiquing road trips together.

A special thank you to the Murray Martin family for being a big part of Darcy’s life and always including him in their family circle.

A family service was held on July 25.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Please send condolences to the family at jswllms@telus.net.
