Enjoyed showing horses
It is with great sadness that the family of Brenda Jean Wiart announces her passing on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital in Castor, Ab.  She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed.
Brenda was born in Castor, Alberta on January 27, 1954 to Gene and Wilma Perreault.  The sixth of seven children she spent her early years on the family farm north of Bulwark, Alberta.

In 1971 she married Charles Wiart of Alliance, Ab. and together they had three children.
Brenda enjoyed showing horses and trail riding and fostered a love of horses in her children.  After raising her family Brenda found much joy and kinship in quilting and spending winters in Arizona.

Brenda was predeceased by her parents Gene and Wilma Perreault, father and mother-in-law John and Cecile Wiart and brother-in-law Leon Wiart.  Brenda is lovingly remembered by her husband Chuck of 43 years; daughters Karen Wiart and Nicolle Cruickshanks (Darcy); son Gene Wiart (Jessie); grandchildren: Rayna, Maria and Gavin Cruikshanks and Preslee Wiart.  Brenda also leaves to mourn, her brothers and sisters: Ken Perreault, Sharon Hoffart (Frank), Jeanette Forrest (John), Bob Perreault (Sandra), Audrey Fuller (Gary) and Donna Weseen (Bill); as well as many nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

A celebration of life was held for Brenda on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Alliance Community Hall with friend Sylvia Wold officiating.

A loving eulogy was presented by niece Lyanne Almberg and friend Kathy Mennell paid tribute to her dear friend.  Nieces Jasmen Wiart and Diane Belisle offered the 23 Psalm and The Lord’s Prayer.  Several of Brenda’s favourite songs were played, as well as a video presentation.

Honourary pallbearers were Brenda’s ‘Many Stitching Friends’ and the ‘Royal Canadian Legion Branch #94’.
Following the service family and friends joined together to share memories and a luncheon prepared and served by the Alliance Women’s Institute.

Brenda was laid to rest in a private family ceremony at the Alliance Cemetery Columbarium led by son-in-law Darcy Cruickshanks at 11 a.m.
