Dear Editor,
Even before I was born there was a well known phrase that went like this: “What you don’t know won’t hurt you.”
This may be true of a lot of things in life, but there is one circumstance that will have negative everlasting consequences. With this in mind, may I rephrase this saying: “What you don’t know, can and will hurt you.”
With the upcoming “Holiday” Season approaching I would like to remind each one of us of a few quotes from the Holy Bible.
For those who don’t know, the Holy Bible is The Word of God to mankind. In it God tells us everything that we need to know about Him, and about ourselves.
For those who don’t know who God is, here is a small bit of information about Him.
God is the all-powerful, all-knowing, present everywhere at all times, holy, just, gracious, merciful, Sovereign, Supreme Creator and sustainer of all things, including you and me.
Here are a few things that God would like each one of us to consider at this time: And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (The Bible – Revelation 20:15).
For what shall it profit a man, (or woman) if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (The Bible – Mark 8:36).
For by grace are ye saved through Faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (The Bible – Ephesians 2: 8 and 9)
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David and Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (The Bible – Luke 2: 10 and 11).
My prayer is that each one might know where he or she stands in light of eternity this “Holiday” Season. You can get a Holy Bible app on your Smartphone or Tablet to confirm these few verses, plus thousands more.
