Lloyd Allan Wesner passed away Feb. 27, three days before his 87 birthday.
Lloyd was born March 1, 1929 in Byemoor, Ab. to Lesta and Ellis Wesner. He attended Gopherhead and Asdee Schools.
As a young man, he always wanted to be a veterinarian but money was scarce and he was needed on the farm. He became a successful rancher and being an excellent cattleman showed his beloved shorthorns in various cattle shows across the province.
Lloyd also played drums for years in the John Wesner Orchestra and later with the Four Numerous Band. We are told there were many a good sessions held to his excellent drum beat.
Lloyd also enjoyed baseball, hockey and curling with Lorne Slater, Don and Stan Wesner.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lesta and Ellis; two brothers in infancy; sister, Lillian and her husband, Frank and their son Kenny Swain.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Vivian of 34 years; her four sons, Clarke (Janet), Grant, Ward (Chris) and Greg (Patty) Wallace; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; who all knew and loved him as Grandpa Lloyd.
He is also survived and will be missed by cousins, Don (Rose) Wesner, Stan (Gilda) Wesner, Brian Wesner (Kathy), and Diane (Gilles) Godin; numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Lloyd will be held at 11 a.m. Thurs. March 10, 2016 at Brennan Funeral Home 4819-49 Street, Stettler, Ab.
