Wainwright RCMP charge Cadogan male for attempted murder

Wainwright RCMP responded to a report of an injured male at a convenience store in Wainwright on 10 Street. 

On March 10, 2020 at approximately 7:15 a.m., Police arrived and located an adult male victim with serious non-life threatening injuries.

The victim was transported by EMS to an Edmonton hospital.

It is alleged that the victim was hit with a hatchet by another patron while in the store after a verbal exchange had taken place.

Police located the suspect male in the area and arrested him without incident.

A hatchet was also seized. No one else was injured. 

Nick Pollard (26) of Cadogan, Alta., was charged with five Criminal Code offences which include: Attempted murder, Aggravated assault, Assault with a weapon, Assault causing bodily harm and Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was remanded into custody after a judicial hearing and will be appearing in Wainwright Provincial Court on Thurs. March 19, 2020.
