Wainwright RCMP arrest impaired man after mandatory alcohol screening

Wainwright RCMP has arrested an intoxicated man after a traffic stop on New Year’s Day,  Jan. 1, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.

The 23-year-old man from Wainwright was stopped on 7 Avenue in Wainwright for a vehicle equipment violation.

Mandatory alcohol screening was conducted and the man was arrested for operating a conveyance while impaired.

After the impaired investigation was concluded, he was also charged for operating a conveyance while impaired with 80 or more milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

The man was released from custody for a court appearance on March 7, 2019, in Wainwright Provincial Court.

Charges have yet to be sworn.

The Wainwright RCMP want to remind motorists to drive sober and to call 911 to report any impaired drivers.
