The Forestburg council moved for the village office to close at 1 p.m. on Fridays, during the regular meeting held on Thurs. July 12.
“Fridays in the summer tend to be much slower,” said Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Debra Moffatt.
The new hours will be effective July 20 until Aug. 31. “This will make them feel appreciated,” CAO Moffatt said about the office staff.
Council will be sending a reply to a citizen who wrote to council with a complaint regarding the train’s horn. Council will be forwarding the complaint to Battle River Railway and encouraging them to work together to come up with a solution.
“I can imagine it being incredibly annoying,” said Coun. Devon McNabb. The village does have authority to create a bylaw, but will then accept liability in the event that something was to happen.
