This morning at approximately 10:40 a.m., a semi-tractor was driving southbound on Highway 41, 15 km north of Consort near Highway 599 when the driver thought he was being pulled over by a police vehicle with lights that were activated.
The driver recognized the two suspects were not dressed in police uniforms and immediately confronted them after one of them demanded money from the victim while outside the semi-tractor.
The two suspects then fled back into their vehicle and were last seen heading southbound on Highway 41 towards Consort. No weapons were seen.
The two male suspects are described as: Caucasian with short brown hair; 5’8 to 6’0 tall, early 20’s in age; wore black sweaters with blue jeans and white shoes.
The vehicle is described as an older white Crown Victoria car with black rims.
It had a light bar on top of roof, in front and back of vehicle and may have a large number on top of the roof (“10”).
Decals are believed to be similar to RCMP.
No license plate was visible.
If you have seen this vehicle in the area of Consort or Coronation you are asked not to approach it and contact police immediately.
It is only police officers in uniform that would pull you over in a traffic stop. If you are uncertain please call 911.
Alberta RCMP can confirm no white Crown Victoria’s are being used for policing in Alberta by RCMP.
