Two Big Valley councillors have resigned from council for various reasons.
Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Priscilla Brown resigned from her position, leaving a vacancy in staff. Mayor Sandra Schell applied for the position and got the job but in the process was also required to resign as mayor to do so.
“I had to transition and resign from my position on council to become the CAO,” said Schell. “It just kind of happened all at once.”
Coun. Dwayne Grover resigned “due to personal reasons” according to Schell.
Remaining is Coun. Harry Nibourg.
A date for the by-election has yet to be determined.
