Riders enjoyed a day of leisure at the sixth annual Trail Ride on Sat. Sept. 21, 2019 held by the Metiskow Agricultural Society.
They had a beautiful fall day for the ride that was 15 miles in length, with 25 adult riders and two youth participating.
The 1 1/2year-old and four-year-old made it to the lunch stop six miles into the ride.
The group left the Metiskow Sports Grounds at 11 a.m. and returned at 4 p.m.
The oldest rider was 72-years old with a couple of other riders at 71. The youngest to complete the ride was 13.
Riders came from Lloydminster, Kitscoty, Vermilion, Chauvin, Consort, Amisk, Hughenden, Czar, Provost and Metiskow.
“So we had lots of new people to visit with and got to show our great area off to new folks,” said Wilma Halvorson.
Metiskow Ag. Society members that did not go on the trail were busy preparing the steak supper that they had ready for the group when they got back to the sports grounds.
“With the great weather that we had, unfortunately, our numbers were down for the supper as community members were busy in the field but the 50 of us that were there enjoyed a great steak supper,” said Halvorson.
