Trochu by-election complete, De La Cruz wins

Trochu recently underwent a councillor by-election after Cheryl Lumley had to leave due to health reasons.

According to notification from the Town of Trochu given Mon. Jan. 24, 178 votes were received, giving Cerilo De La Cruz the highest count at 71 votes.

De La Cruz has worked at Sunterra Trochu for 13 years and also coaches/referees at Trochu Valley School.

Fellow candidates Gerard Proudfoot received 47 votes, Kelly Bigelow at 31 and Spandy Andy Rimer at 29.
