Trochu Ag Society hosted non-traditional gymkhanas

Trochu Ag Society expresses appreciation to The Co-operators for the colourful barrel covers used in the many clinics they hosted throughout the summer. ECA Review/Submitted

Trochu and District Ag Society would like to thank everyone for their continued support.

This year was a very important year to have this support, as we were unable to have our annual mini rodeo.

We are very thankful to have been able to still have events to give this summer some excitement in this unpredictable time.

We would like to send out a huge thank you to The Co-operators/ProPlan Financial group for supporting us by providing barrel covers.

These barrel covers were used for most of our clinics and events this summer. We loved having these to dress up our arena, thank you.

Another huge thank you to Trochu Motors. We were provided with a tractor to harrow our grounds for every event, as well as keeping them fresh for our seasonal membership holders.

As we do not have a tractor of our own, this is always a great need and is always greatly appreciated.

Although we did not have our annual event, we held several clinics and fun non-traditional gymkhana’s.

In January we had our winter family fun day. Families enjoyed a sleigh ride, hot chocolate and treats, tree (pallets) burn, pony meet and greet and mini goats.

Thank you to the Trochu Lions Club for the use of the campground trail.

Thank you to the Trochu Fire Department for keeping our fire under control and providing a truck for the kids to enjoy.

We had two non-traditional gymkhana events, which were very well received. We really enjoyed putting on these fun, light competition events.

We did one last event in September, a learn the pattern day. We look forward to having more of these in the next season.

We had a variety of clinics this summer. Kade Mills horsemanship, steer riding with Wacey and Austin Nash and barrel racing with Brodoway Training. We only wish we had a longer season to provide more.

Each year we look at what we can do to give our community and surrounding area something different to get out and enjoy. We are very much looking forward to having our annual event as well as more clinics and gymkhanas.
