Clearview and Red Deer College have partnered up to provide additional training and supports for Clearview’s Educational Assistants, building even more capacity to support students.
Five Educational Assistants successfully completed the training. They included Pat Ough, Boban Charls and Krissy Jack of Wm. E. Hay, Jocelyn Stevens of Erskine, and Laurie-Anne Erion, Silver Spring Colony each.
The course was entitled “Introduction to Classroom Support”. If the participants decide to pursue their Educational Assistant (EA) Certificate, this course will be counted as one credit towards it.
Clearview’s Educational Assistants had five full days with a Red Deer College instructor. For three out of the five class dates, the EAs came together with the instructor at Red Deer College during Clearview’s scheduled professional development days.
“We are delighted that our Educational Assistants had this learning opportunity with Red Deer College,” said Grant Gosse, Director of Inclusive Learning.
“This has provided us the opportunity to build capacity with our Educational Assistants enabling them to continue the excellent support they provide to our students on a daily basis. Staff are the first resource in ensuring Clearview students succeed.”
