Towers erected along Highway 36 near Hanna

eastern alberta transmission lineWorkers from Valard Construction LP put up a power line along Highway 36, on Lake Thelma Road, in the County of Paintearth June 1, 2013. The Eastern Alberta Transmission Line will extend from the Heathfield Northern Converter Station (north of Edmonton, Alberta) to the Newell Converter Station (near Brooks, Alberta). Construction began in December, 2012 and is predicted to be completed near the end of 2014. The line will be 485 kilometres long and a total of 13,094 towers will be erected.
