David Tomkinson
David Eric Tomkinson passed away Dec. 1, 2023 at Bashaw Meadows Care Center in Bashaw, Alta. into the loving arms of his Saviour Jesus Christ.
David is survived by his loving wife Erica of 48 years, his son Jimmy (Simone) of Courtenay B.C., daughter Barbara (Bill) of Nova Scotia, two stepsons, Stan (Karen) of Arizona, USA, Dale (Shelley) of Sardis, B.C. and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his brothers Doug (Marlene), Denis (Lynn) and Tom (Mini) all of Toronto, Ont.; sisters Donna (Bill) of North Carolina, USA and Darlene (Ed) of Prince George, B.C.
He was predeceased by his parents, his son, his stepdaughter and a brother.
David served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1960 – 1976.
He was trained in fire services and retired in 2016 as fire chief from the Mirror Fire Department after an 11-year career.
He was a certified gas fitter and plumber in Abbotsford B.C. and Nunavut.
David enjoyed golfing with Erika during the summer and warmer months.
David and Erika attended the Mirror Alliance Church and he was active in his faith until his passing.
A memorial service and interment will be held in 2024.
