Friends, elected officials and supporters of the Three Hills Seniors Outreach Society welcomed the group’s brand new bus Fri. March 4 at the Provincial Building in Three Hills, Alta.

The $119,000 cost was covered by local community associations, fundraising efforts, government grants and donors who saw the value of having such a vehicle to supplement the society’s widespread service and outreach programs.

“It is a good example of how community groups can work together,” said MLA Nathan Cooper.

Seniors Outreach Administrator Terry Schlinker said the previous vehicle, with 15 years and 188,000 kilometers under its fan belt, will be sold.

Manufactured in the States and sold out of Sherwood Park, the new community bus is the result of fundraising efforts that began in the fall of 2019.
