Theresetta School earns banner for ‘most winning team’

Theresetta students who enjoy baseball are tickled to have a new backstop courtesy of the generosity of  Theresetta Education Fund and the Castor Elks.
Junior high students travelled to Red Deer participated in the CWAJHAA (Central Western Alberta Junior High Athletics Association) Badminton Tournament.
They won 20 games as an overall team which earned them a banner that is awarded to the most winning team at the tournament.
All the participating schools at the tournament have a population of 75 junior high students or less and seeing as we have a junior high population of 25 we did a great job representing our little school.
Theresetta was able to send an amazing 16 athletes to the tournament, who all enjoyed great success.
Landon Slemp finished third in grade 7 boys singles, Ryleigh Bunbury finished tird in grade 8 girls singles, Abby Fuller and Alyssa Kuefler placed second in grade 7 girls doubles, and Berlin Schnell and Maddie Rombough placed second in grade 8 girls doubles.

Pampering Moms
The Kindergarten class had their Mother’s Day Tea on Thurs. May 11.  The kinderkids sang a song, guided meditation and prayer that the kids read, then pampered each of their moms with a massage and manicure, tea and snacks.
On May 18, the Kinderkids prepared and served a hot lunch of hot dogs, veggies, and rice krispie squares for the entire school.

Outdoor Ed class
The grade 7 – 9 Outdoor Education class travelled to the Dry Island Provincial Park northeast of Trochu, Ab. on Fri., May 19.
The purpose of the trip is to experience the rich First Nations’ history of the area. There is a buffalo jump at the park that dates back 2800 years.
This week’s ‘Move Your Mood Family Challenge’ was a family fitness night hosted at the Theresetta Catholic School gym by Diana Wilson.
The junior kindergarten class celebrated Beach Day on May 19. The class had fun wearing their beach attire and experiencing some fun beach themed activities.
