Theft near Coronation

A residence south of Coronation was broke into sometime between Monday, Aug. 24 and Tuesday, Aug. 25 with multiple handguns, custom rifles, shotguns and jewelry stolen, according to a Hanna RCMP press release.
In a phone interview on Mon. Aug. 31, the ECA Review was told that no charges have been laid.

Cow shot near Castor

A single cow was shot and killed on private property in the area of Highway 36 south of Castor. It is believed that the shooting was intentional and occurred sometime on Saturday, August 29.
Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is asked to contact Coronation RCMP at (403)578-3666 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous.

Theft of firearms

A break, enter and theft of firearms from a rural location south of Veteran, on July 26, according to a Consort RCMP press release.
Entry was gained through a window and once inside unknown person(s) took eight firearms and a various quantity of ammunition.
Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of two individuals.
With the assistance of Medicine Hat Police Service, Richard Walls (50), and Bonnie Walls (46),, both of Medicine Hat were arrested and charged with break and enter to steal a firearm.
Both subjects were released and are scheduled to appear in Coronation Provincial Court on Friday, Sept. 11.
All firearms stolen during this incident were recovered.

Mischief to Oil Lease Sites

Sometime during the late evening onto the early morning of August 23 – 24 unknown person(s) entered two rural oil lease sites in the Monitor district.
Once on site, unknown person(s) tampered with valves and switches.
