Subsidizing clean energy developers

C02 is going to be the cause of a worldwide financial crisis. At the present time COVID-19 is doing that.

It is not the C02 emissions that are the problem. The real problem is the United Nations climate change policy.

I’ve started reading a book “False Alarm” written by Paul MacRae 10 years ago. In 1988 the UN formed the Intergovernmental  Panel on Climate Change [IPCC].

The mandate of the IPCC is to prove that man-produced C02 is the real cause of global warming. The IPCC scientists deliberately ignore the real science of climate change.

With the help of environmental alarmists they have managed to convince media, politicians and much of the public that the cause of climate change is C02 emissions.

There are trillions of dollars being spent on various programs to reduce these emissions and, of course, it is all wasted money.

As I have stated in previous columns, I have studied the real science on climate change for at least 25 years and anything that I have read including what I have learned so far in this book says the role of C02 in climate change is minor.

In Canada our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is quite willing to sacrifice the economy of the country, especially Alberta, to achieve his Paris agreement target.

Trudeau thinks that any thing that the UN says or does is absolute gospel.

Elizabeth May says that what she is promoting is climate science. No she isn’t. What she is promoting is the science of the IPCC which isn’t science at all. What they are promoting is biased junk science.

From my point of view what this all boils down to is a big money racket and really has little to do with the reduction of C02 emissions.

There are billions of dollars being spent on the development of these clean energy projects like solar farms and wind generators. Cost wise these things cannot compete with natural gas or even coal generation.

Our government and many other governments seem to think these projects are the answer to lowering emissions.

What they don’t tell you is that these projects are a gold mine for the developers of these projects and the cause of substantial increases in the cost of electricity.

These projects are not stand alone so they have to be subsidized by governments or carbon off sets.

Wind and solar projects only produce intermittent power because the wind doesn’t always blow and the sun doesn’t always shine all of the time so they have to have to be backed up by base generation which adds to the cost of electric power.

One way or another what this amounts to is WE the consumers of electricity subsidizing the developers of clean power generation. The evidence of real climate scientists has proven that C02 emissions have never and are not now the driver of climate change. There have been ice ages going back 650 million years where C02 was 20 times higher than it is now.

Bottom line is we the electrical consumers are being forced to pay for solving a problem that doesn’t exist. Climate change has natural causes.
