It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Tom Streit at the age of 82 years.
Tom was born July 29, 1939 to Oliver and Emma Streit.
He attended Blumeneau School located between Stettler and Botha.
He started his career as a farmer on the Streit family dairy farm forming Streit Bros. with his two brothers, Bob and Skippy until 1980.
He then moved north of there where he continued with a grain farming operation and eventually, with his two sons, formed Triple S Farms until his retirement in 2019.
Being a long-time resident in the County of Stettler, farming just east of town all his life, he was well known in the community.
Tom enjoyed curling in Botha and Stettler and a good game of cards with family and friends. He had a fun-loving character and quick wit enjoyed by many.
He is remembered as a hardworking man, with a good sense for problem solving and manufacturing what was needed to solve that problem.
Tom will be sorely missed and loving remembered by his wife of 55 years Carol of Stettler; children Ron (Shelley) Streit of Stettler, Lisa (Tim) Duffin of Rocky Mountain House and Dean Streit of Stettler; grandchildren: Logan (Lisa) Duffin, Nolan (Kailey) Duffin, Ben Duffin and Mathew Duffin, Chase Walton and Wyatt Streit; great grandchildren: Jasper, Theo, Locklyn, George and Walter Duffin.
He is also survived by sister Betty Kobi; brothers-in-law Bill (Valerie) Hallett and Don (Faye) Hallett; sisters-in-law Shirley MacRae and Sandra Hallett; as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends and neighbours.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Oliver and Emma Streit; brothers: Jim (Ethel) Streit, Bob Streit and Skippy Streit; sister Shirley (Doug) Knutson; brothers-in-law Edwin Kobi and Brian Hallett; parents-in-law Willard and Mae Hallett.
