The Stettler Recore Storm women’s hockey team faced off against their East Central Alberta Female Hockey League (ECAFHL) rivals Lloyminster Midget on Saturday, November 30.
Stettler got on the board early with point shot from Ashley Keith. With less than a minute left in the first period Kelsie Litke scored the eventual game winner.
In the second period Lloydminster came out flying, scoring an early goal. Less than three minutes later Kierra Scollo scored for Stettler There was no scoring in the third period.
Lindsey McKinnon faced 17 shots in the victory.
On Sunday, December 1 the girls travelled to Provost to take on the Blades. Stettler came out flat and found themselves down by two goals after the first period. The Storm got on the board early in the second on a goal by Grace Chapman. Provost got that one back then added and insurance goal in the third making the final  score 4 – 1.
This was the first regular season loss for the Stettler team in 31 games. The last time the Storm lost in regular season play was December 17, 2011 when they dropped a 3 – 2 game against Red Deer.
