Victor Dale Steer “Vic”

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, great-great-grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. 

Victor Dale Steer “Vic” was born on Oct. 29, 1934 and passed away peacefully in Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital, Castor, Alta. on Jan. 10, 2022 at the age of 87 years. 

Predeceased by his daughter Gail Draney, parents Frank and Frieda; siblings Angie (Nick) Linden, Frieda (Pius) Senger, Meg (Bill) Shewkenek, Bob and Byron, Vic leaves to mourn his loving wife Penny of 41 years and children: Frank (Nastya) Steer, Angela (Don) Prokopetz, Karen (Marc) Gagnon, Robert (Diana) Steer, and Vicki (Chris) Schrauwen.

Also grandchildren, Victor Steer, Christopher (Sabrina) Prokopetz, Steven (Shelby) Prokopetz, Jesse Gagnon (Kate Lovett), Colton Gagnon (Deanna Horbay), Angelyne Gagnon, Elizabeth (Tim) Miller, Kaela (Bruce) Graham, Brooke Schrauwen, Ashley Schrauwen, Tanya Draney, and Jason Draney (Owen Brown).

Also great-grandchildren: Emily, Cole, Gracie, Brayden, Bexley, Emersyn, Milo, Mathis, Mika, Colby, Wyatt, Jayden, Tristan (Kate) and their daughter (Vic’s great-great-granddaughter) Ira Jane.

Also siblings, Clifford (Wilma) Steer and William (Betty) Steer, numerous nieces, nephews, Penny’s family, the coffee crew and many many friends. 

CVic worked in the oil industry from 1951 to 2003. He is well known to many people far and wide. 

Vic will be missed immensely by his most loved family and friends. 

Funeral services to celebrate Vic’s life will be held later in the spring/summer of 2022. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Vic’s memory to Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital Foundation.
