Mitch Thompson delivered nearly 1,000 pounds of high-value food to the Three Hills Food Bank Feb. 8. Thompson, executive director of the Red Deer Food Bank, didn’t leave empty-handed—the smaller food bank gave him a generous supply of surplus honey and material handling equipment. Regional food banks such as Airdrie and Red Deer are significant contributors to smaller groups including Trochu and Three Hills, many of which have sharply increased client traffic because of the ongoing pandemic.
