Southern Alberta District RCMP Crime Reduction Unit recover stolen vehicle, two males face charges

The Southern Alberta District RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) discovered a break and enter and theft of a vehicle that had occurred during the night at a local business in Drumheller, Alta on Jan. 23, 2020. 

As a result of further investigation, the Southern Alberta District RCMP CRU team were able to locate the stolen vehicle in Calgary a few hours later and both occupants were arrested without incident.

Richard Patrick Bixby was charged with: Break and enter to commit theft and Possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Bixby was released on an undertaking with conditions to appear in Drumheller Provincial Court on Feb. 28, 2020.

Brodie Joseph Gallant was charged with Break and enter to commit theft, Possession of stolen property and Fail to comply with conditions.

Following a judicial hearing, Gallant was remanded in custody to appear in Drumheller Provincial Court on Feb. 14, 2020.

The Southern Alberta District RCMP CRU team’s investigation into this matter involved the assistance of Hanna and Drumheller RCMP members.

The Drumheller RCMP are asking the public to report suspicious persons, vehicles, and activities in their neighbourhoods.
