Snow Storm

East Central Alberta long time residents have never seen a snow storm this early, like the one that blew in on Sun. late evening, Oct. 1 and snowed until late Mon. afternoon and continued blowing until late into Mon. night, Tues. morning.
Stranded motorists filled the hotels/motels and the Hanna Community Centre was opened to accommodate other travellers Many were trapped on the road and rescuers were kept busy through Monday and into the night rescuing stranded travellers.
Facebook lit up with posts. Chad Heggie, driver for Double V Trucking out of Picture Butte, Ab. was one of many stranded since 6 a.m. Mon. morning on Sec. Hwy 599.
Power was out in Coronation for 17 hours and some rural residents are still out as of Tues, afternoon. Tues. morning, Oct. 3 the sun is shining and the melting of the snow has begun.
