Doris Sinclair
Doris Nettie Sinclair (nee Hughes) passed away peacefully on Jan. 4, 2023 at the Hanna Long Term Care facility at the age of 95 years.
Doris was born in Youngstown, Alta. on Nov. 19, 1927 to Maria and Carman Hughes.
She married Alistair Sinclair of Hanna on July 6, 1947 and together they had two children: daughter Cora and son Carman.
Doris was very active in the Hanna community, playing sports such as curling, golf, swimming, and seniors mixed slow pitch.
Her hobbies included playing the piano, cards (especially Bridge), knitting, crocheting, sewing and gardening.
She was also an active member of the Rebeka Lodge, Royal Purple and the Lions Club.
Doris is survived and will be missed by daughter Cora (Jack) Harrington of Calgary; son Carman (Cherie) Sinclair of Hanna; two granddaughters: Aleisha (David) Baker and Chantelle (Vince) Niro; and five great-grandchildren: Ava Baker, Wyatt Baker, Mia Niro, Cadence Niro and Jordan Niro.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Calgary at the Mountain View Cemetery.
