Principal Mark Siemens has been with Clearview Public Schools since 2007 and has served in the roles of teacher and school administrator.

He has been the principal at Donalda School since 2014, and before that, he taught mathematics, physics and physical education at William E Hay.

Siemens is well known for his support for student activities and has coached football as well as organized ski trips and science fairs.

In his leadership roles, Siemens has led staff in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment and technology.

He brings strong interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for learning and teaching, along with a commitment to work directly with schools to support student needs.

Siemens graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Science/Education and is near completion of his Master’s degree from the University of Calgary.

Mark is married to Julie, and they have four daughters.

“I am excited to join the Clearview leadership team in the role of Division Principal. During my five years as a school leader in Donalda, significant steps have been taken in Clearview to ensure staff have the structures, resources, and training to successfully support all our students.

“It is a privilege and thrill for me to have the opportunity to work with school leaders as we continue to hire, grow, and support our exceptional staff,” said Siemens.

The Division Principal position will support schools with Clearview initiatives, foster conditions which maximize learning, and support the effective performance of personnel.

The Division Principal will be responsible for supporting principals with teacher hiring and evaluations, mentoring of beginning teachers, coordination of Aboriginal learning opportunities, and generative dialogue.

The person in this role will also develop and implement homeschooling and blended programming in Clearview while exploring Dual Credit opportunities.

“Mark is an outstanding principal who will be a great addition to the leadership team at central office. He will be working shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow principals as well as exploring some new territory for Clearview,” shared Peter Barron, Superintendent.

The new position of Division Principal was supported by the Board of Trustees and will start September 2019.
