It was the seventh year on Sept, 18, 2021 for the Metiskow Ag Society Trail Ride with it only being cancelled once which was last year due to the pandemic.

This trail ride is hosted by the Metiskow Agricultural Society and is fund raising this year to help with the upgrade of the flat roof on the community hall.

We had 38 horseback riders, three wagons with 17 riders so we had 55 people out on the trail with the youngest rider being 2 ½ years-old which rode half the loop and then her 3 ½ year-old sister rode the second half of the ride.

Our next youngest that rode the whole 14 miles on her own horse was nine-years-old. Our oldest rider was 77 and our oldest wagon driver was 82.

Riders came from Cold Lake to Coronation to Oyen to Lacombe in Alberta to Luseland and Senlac in Saskatchewan and all stops in between – plus one teamster came home from Chestermere to help her dad drive his team.

After the 14 mile ride a steak supper was served outside the community hall where 30 extra community and family members joined the trail riders to hear about their ride and a lot more visiting.

A good day was had by all!
