Dear Editor,
Strong Trump supporters continue to spread misinformation (false narratives; alternate facts) about Trump, about the presidential election results of Nov. 4, 2020, about BLM (Black Lives Matter), and about Antifa.
Let’s set the record straight, eh?
There is no such organization called Antifa. The word is associated with people who are opposed to fascism.
Fascism as we have seen in Hitler’s Germany, Mussolini’s Italy, Putin’s Russia, and in Erdogan’s Turkey.
The domination of a country by one man dictatorships. No civil liberties are allowed such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of the press, trial by jury, free elections, etcetera.
BLM is not a terrorist organization either.
However, the FBI, Homeland Security, the Secret Service all label extreme right-wing paramilitary groups such as Proud Boys, Boogaloo Boys, KKK, Neo-Nazis and QAnon as dangerous terrorist organizations, and such groups have supported Trump and Trumpism in the past and they continue to do so today.
Such groups are anti-democracy (pro dictatorships), racist (anti black), anti people of colour, anti-Muslim and anti-immigrants.
They all promote hatred and violence to achieve their political and religious goals through propaganda, misinformation and conspiracy theories. For example, Democrats/liberals are into kidnapping children for sex trafficking. Promoting cannibalism of children.
As a Republican, I support the actions of the “Lincoln Project” and “Republicans for the Rule of Law” against Trump and his supporters.
Here are some of the reasons. We moderate Republican/conservatives oppose Trump and Trumpism. Over 425,000 Americans have died under his administration’s negligence in handling the COVID-19 crisis, made fun of doctors and scientists who warned Americans about the pandemic.
He and his supporters urged people not to wear masks, to ignore social distancing, to ignore restrictions and to ignore vaccinations.
More Americans have died now due to this virus than in all the deaths incurred by US forces during World War II.
More Americans have died now than in all the conflicts America has been involved with since 1950 including the Korean war; Vietnam war; Afghan war; the two Iraqi wars, and the wars against ISIS, the Taliban, and al Qaeda in Syria, Iraq, Africa, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and in Pakistan.
Between 2,000 and 4,000 die in America every day. That situation is not a hoax. It’s not fake!
Plus, over three million Americans have lost their jobs under his watch.
He has lied more than 30,000 times.
Over 500 migrant children have been left without parents.
He golfed 315 times while America suffered one crisis after another.
Ninety-one per cent of his staff have either quit, resigned or were fired during his four years in office.
Twenty-six women have filed sexual harassment charges against him.
His association with Jeffrey Epstein, a serial pedophile and sexual predator.
He has committed adultery against all his wives and associated with a porn star (Stormy Daniels) and a Playboy Bunny while married to his present wife, Melania.
He has been sued over 2,000 times for corrupt business practices. He and his business organization is being investigated for tax evasion and for criminal activities such as the defunct Trump University and for promoting fake charities.
Trump has been involved in six bankruptcies, and he dodged the draft during the Vietnam War five times (so much for being patriotic, eh?).
He is now being impeached for the second time. No other president has that dubious distinction for inciting his followers to assault the Capitol in Washington, DC. in order to overturn the election results of Nov. 2, 2020.
What is Trumpism? It’s all about ME. It’s the belief that a person is “entitled” to do whatever he/she believes is good for him/her. It’s ignoring laws, rules and regulations that they don’t like.
Who cares about the welfare of other people. Laws, rules, and regulations are for other people.
It’s spreading hatred of other peoples’ colour, race, religion and ethnic background.
It’s promoting the sale of military weapons to civilians. promoting unregulated paramilitary groups (militias).
It’s promoting concealed weapons permits and carrying weapons in public like we have seen with the Proud Boys, KKK, Neo-Nazis, and other white nationalists at various state capitals.
It’s promoting private schools over public education using public money.
Folks ought to read Mary Trump’s (Trump’s niece) book entitled “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man” in order to get a better understanding of Donald Trump.
To get a better understanding of the BLM movement and racism in America, I suggest folks should read the history of the Wilmington, North Carolina coup of Nov. 10, 1898, the Tulsa Massacre of 1921, and the Louisiana Massacre of Sept.1868.
Moreover, BLM is also about discrimination and persecution against women, Jews, Mormons, Irish Catholics, Mexican-Americans (Hispanics), Japanese-Americans, Native Americans and immigrants.
BLM is opposed to voter suppression, to “Jim Crow Laws”, to Black Codes, and “sundown towns”.
