Scott’s host mock show for Rangeland 4H Multi-Club

Written by ECA Review

Starting on October 8, our first meeting, our year has been eventful and fun. During that first meeting, Chance Scott was elected president Taylor Mashon, vice president, Ronan Quashnick, secretary and Callie Mashon the treasurer. Lastly, Austin Nelner and I for District and Club reporters.

At our December meeting, for our community service, we made Christmas ornaments for the Lodge residents. Teri and Cody Quashnick hosted our Christmas party at their house. We had a hot dog roast and played laser tag. Santa even made an appearance!

February was our communications activity with members moving onto regional and district competitions.

The beef project members have been busy with their steers, heifer and carcass projects. On April 24, a clipping clinic was held at Hutton’s with Alisha Minchau sharing her expertise with the members.

On May 13, the Scott’s hosted a mock show in preparation for our show and sale on Sat. June 11 in Hanna.

The swine members have been in full swing since February. We have had the privilege of having Lacy Rowan join us for a meeting and our mock show.

She has provided us with lots of information about pigs, specifically maintaining the appropriate amount of weight gain and clipping techniques.

In sewing, the members have made Christmas ornaments, a toiletry travel roll, a computer bag and pajama pants.

The outdoor adventure project has had lots of fun learning about fire and shelter building techniques, ice fishing and geo-caching. They also built birdhouses at Co-Op.

We hope you can all join us at our show and sale June 11 – 12 where we will showcase our beef, swine, sewing and outdoor adventure projects.
