Loved to cook, sew and play cards

Amelia (Beier) Schamber was born on Aug. 20, 1918 in Compeer, Ab. and she passed away peacefully on Aug. 22 two days after her 98th birthday in Edmonton, Ab.

Amelia was predeceased by her parents and her seven brothers and four sisters; as well as her loving husband of 65 years, John on Jan. 28, 2008.

Amelia is lovingly remembered by her seven children: Ray (Jan), Al (Carol), Larry, Wilf (Bonnie), Rick (Careen), Elaine (Brian) and Marlene (Randy).

John and Amelia were married in 1943 and moved to Castor in 1949 and farmed until 1972 when they retired and moved into town.

Amelia was a member of the C.W.L. and the Royal Purple.  She loved to cook and sew and play cards.  She especially loved to make quilts for her children and grandchildren.

The highlight of her life was seeing her 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  She will be remembered forever in our hearts.

Prayer Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. on Sun., Aug. 28 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Castor, Ab. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. on Mon., Aug. 29, 2016.
