Sheila Reckseidler
Local resident Sheila Reckseidler has been appointed to the Provincial Cancer Advisory Board.
The role of the board is to provide and share information through each member’s respective networks.
This includes promoting ongoing AHS cancer programs, distributing promotional materials, and acting as a liaison for cancer care programs in the community. Each member will support Albertans living with cancer, sharing resources and helping patients get the information they need to navigate the system.
As a representative for the Central Region, Sheila was able to tour the new Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Calgary. The new cancer centre will offer the latest in technology and innovation and will be open sometime in 2024.
As a cancer patient herself, Sheila has always been available to talk with others who have been diagnosed with cancer and to help and give advice wherever needed. She would like to make herself available to others who need assistance in navigating the system.
She has been fortunate in the care and treatment that she has been able to access from the Red Deer Cancer Centre but she also realizes that some are not as fortunate. She would like to hear your stories.
