RCMP solve multi break and enter investigations


Two suspects have been identified and charged in relation to a break in at a rural property near Bashaw.
Jason Martin, (45) has been charged with 23 Criminal Code charges including; possession of property obtained by crime, break and enter and commit theft, unauthorized possession of a firearm and trafficking in a controlled substance.

Kristi Anderson (27) has been charged with four counts of drug offences including trafficking in a controlled substance and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

A bail hearing was held for Martin who remains in police custody until Feb. 11, 2016.  Anderson is released for a court appearance on Feb. 25, 2016.

On Jan. 30, 2016 a rural residence in Bashaw was broken into with several items stolen.  A suspect was identified by Bashaw RCMP which led to a search warrant being executed at his residence.

Bashaw, Stettler, Blackfalds and Camrose RCMP collaborated on executing the search warrant.

As a result of the search, numerous stolen property was recovered, associated to several recent break and enters in the Bashaw, Stettler and Blackfalds areas.

Recovered items included jewellery, tools, electronics, computers, coin and currency collections, credit cards and identification.

Twenty-five stolen firearms and replica firearms were recovered as well as approximately 30 edged weapons of hunting knives, machetes and sharpened ornamental swords.

Controlled drugs and substances were seized as a result of a second search warrant being executed.

Currently, at least seven different break and enter investigations have been solved.

This investigation remains ongoing as the Bashaw RCMP continue to identify property.

Theft of truck    

Coronation RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for the theft and damage of construction vehicles near Castor.

Suspect(s) stole a F-350 tool truck and took items from the construction site which include, various tools and fuel.

The vehicle was reported missing on Feb. 4 and believed to have been stolen sometime in the previous month.

It was recovered near Wainwright with extensive body damage and all tools contained on it are missing.

The suspect(s) also broke windows on a GMC Yukon and caused extensive body damage while on the construction site located at Highway 12 and Highway 36 in the County of Paintearth.
