RCMP seize marijuana plant and equipment

On April 8, 2017, Hanna RCMP executed a search warrant on a residence located in Hanna.
One marijuana plant and various equipment used to produce marijuana was seized by the RCMP.
A 48 year old female was in the residence at the time and was taken into custody without incident.
The accused has been charged with production and possession of marijuana and was released on court compelling documents and is to appear before the Provincial Court of Alberta on April 26 in the Provincial Court in Hanna.

Threats at Consort School
Consort RCMP were notified of a threat directed towards students at the Consort School at approximately 8 p.m. on March 28, in Consort, Ab. These threats occurred outside of school supervised hours. The resulting investigation concluded with one charge against a youth for uttering threats. At no time was any member of the public, school personnel or students at risk as the school was closed.
The youth who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act will appear in Coronation Provincial Court on April 28, 2017.

Erratic driver
Wainwright RCMP received a complaint of an erratic driver on highway 14 near Wainwright on March 28 at 4:30 p.m.  The vehicle was reported to have forced vehicles off the roadway.  Members located the suspect vehicle parked on Main Street in Wainwright.
Investigation determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.  He was subsequently arrested for impaired driving vehicle.  The passenger in the vehicle was determined to have outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Further investigation into the vehicle stop resulted in a seizure of approximately 90 grams of cocaine and $1,600 cash.
Keith Sandquist (35) from Provost, Ab. was charged with six offences.
He was released from custody on a $2,000 cash recognizance
Derrick Schreiner (30), also from Provost was charged with three offences relating to the drug seizures.
Schreiner was remanded into custody.
They are both due to appear in Wainwright Provincial Court on April 6 for their first appearance.

Break-in and theft
A suspect gained entry into the Food Town grocery store in Castor, Ab. on March 30, 3:22 a.m. by prying open the front door facing 50 Avenue.  Once inside, the suspect accessed a storage cabinet and stole tobacco products.  The suspect was operating a dark coloured half tonne pick-up truck. Coronation RCMP are looking for any information from the public.
