RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigate female’s death

On Nov. 2, 2018, at approximately 2 a.m., Killam RCMP responded to a report that a female was deceased at a residence near Galahad, Alberta.

Police arrived on scene and located a deceased adult female inside a residence.

An adult male was taken into police custody, without incident.

Investigators are not seeking anyone else in connection with this matter and no one else was injured.

Members from the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) and Forensic Identification Section (FIS) are now investigating the female’s death with the assistance of the Killam RCMP Detachment.

29-year-old Brett Thomas Fenton of Galahad, Ab. is charged with First Degree Murder.

He is scheduled to appear in Camrose Provincial Court on Wed. Nov. 7, 2018, at 9:30 a.m.

An autopsy will be conducted on Tue. Nov. 6 at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.

No further additional information will be provided as the matter is now before the courts.
