RCMP investigate fatal collision near Daysland

On March 10, 2019, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Killam RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 855, just east of Daysland.

An SUV was travelling southbound on Highway 855 when it turned west onto Highway 13 and collided with an eastbound truck and horse trailer.

The lone 83-year old female from Flagstaff County, Alberta and lone occupant of the SUV was pronounced deceased on scene.

The two occupants of the eastbound truck suffered minor injuries. The driver, a 25-year-old female and the passenger, a 64-year old male, both from Manitoba were treated on scene for their injuries.

Traffic was diverted from the collision scene for a period of time while the RCMP Collision Analyst conducted an investigation.

Weather and road conditions do not appear to be factors in relation to this incident.

The name of the deceased female will not be released and no charges will be laid.
