Raiders lose gold medal game by one run

The Castor Raiders hosted the Tier 1 AA U18 baseball provincials from Aug. 27 – 29 in Castor, Alta. 

The Calgary Cardinals ended up winning the gold medal game by one run over the Castor Raiders. 

The Raiders had entered provincials holding a 12 – 4 record. 

The local team is composed of players from Castor, Coronation, Alliance, Killam, Sedgwick, Lougheed, Hanna and Provost; nine who were Western Canadian Champions at the U15 level in 2019.

Five teams travelled out east for the tournament including the Calgary Bucks, Calgary Cardinals, Central Alberta Hounds (consisting of players from Blackfalds, Lacombe and Sylvan Lake), Bonnyville Braces and South Jasper Place Jays based in Edmonton.
