Rabel, Melva Faye

Melva Faye Rabel passed away peacefully at Red Deer Regional Hospital, Sept. 19, 2023 after suffering a stroke.

Melva was born Nov. 7, 1938 to Ludvik and Mildred Evang.

She married Ed Rabel on Aug. 11, 1956, and they led a full and busy life, working, playing cards and square dancing.

Melva was predeceased by her parents, Ludvik and Mildred (Robinson) Evang, husband Ed Rabel, as well as special friend Earl Stevens.

She leaves behind her unofficially adopted daughter Heather (Wilf), their children Dustin (Kristen), Tyler (My), Amanda (Bryan), two great-grandchildren Rogue and Morgan. Also a sister Joan (Don) Delafosse and their children, Kathi, Donnie, Nancy and families, numerous nieces and nephews.

A special Thank you to Lief Hansen, Yvonne and Bryan Peebles for always being there for Melva.

A come-and-go tea will be held Fri. Oct. 6, 1-3 p.m., Davenport Place, 2300 Danielle Drive, Red Deer.

If desired memorial contributions may be made to Red Deer Regional Hospital Unit 32 Palliative care, or emergency. They were both instrumental in making Melva’s last days as comfortable as possible.
