Provost collision initial investigation results revealed

Provost RCMP responded to a single fatal collision on Highway 600 at the southwest entrance to Provost on July 13 at approximately 2:00 a.m.

The local detachment along with an RCMP Collision analyst remained on scene for several hours investigating.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a truck was heading eastbound towards the Town of Provost on Highway 600 and collided with a guard rail at the Airport Road intersection before entering a ditch where both occupants were ejected. 

Tragically, a youth male from Macklin, Sask. was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A second youth was transported to the local hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. 

Provost RCMP continue to investigate.

The name of the deceased will not be released.
