Preparing for an emergency

Preparing for an emergency and coordinating response was the focus of ‘Wicked Wind Stettler’, a mock emergency exercise held at Stettler County offices on Apr. 14. Ken Kendall (standing) of Kenneth Kendall Consulting led the tabletop exercise where the scenario of a severe windstorm at Buffalo Lake included missing persons, 150 injured persons, structure fires, blocked roads and evacuation. Representatives attended from the County, Town of Stettler, Donalda, Big Valley, Botha, Gadsby, White Sands, Rochon Sands as well as first responders and social services. ECA Review/D.Johnston
