Tina Plehnert passed away at the Coronation Long Term Care on November 6, 2012, at the age of 82 years. Tina was born March 26, 1930, near Waldheim, Saskatchewan. She was the seventh of eight children of Isaac and Elizabeth Dyck. Tina took her schooling in a small country schoolhouse near Garthland, Saskatchewan. After corresponding via the mail with Heins Plehnert, they first met in Rosthern, Saskatchewan. Tina married Heins on March 27, 1955. They established their family farm half a mile south of Federal. They lived there until moving to Coronation in 1988. Tina stayed there until moving into continuing care in February, 2011.
Tina was known for her tireless work ethic, going from sun up to sundown. Her green thumb was second to none. Her huge gardens flourished under her care, producing enough to feed a small village. She was always canning and jam making, and we would give anything right now for a jar of dilled carrots.
Tina and Heins always enjoyed camping and fishing, taking their family to many destinations. Many remember the berry picking that seemed to go along with it. Tina and Heins spent their retirement years travelling throughout the US, especially in the winter months, sharing many pictures and slides on their return.
Tina loved to do all kinds of crafts. In her later years she really enjoyed crossword puzzles. In the winter she always had a jigsaw puzzle on the go, completed with help from the grandchildren, whether she wanted it or not.
Tina is lovingly remembered by her children Ruth Summers, David Plehnert, Judy Lindmark (Wade), and Edward Plehnert (Lesa); Grandchildren Adeline Stephenson (Mike), Marlene Janke (James), Violet Summers,
Jennifer Whalen (Chad), Ryan Lindmark (Kelsey), Barry Lindmark (Tanis), Robbie Lindmark, Brooke
Lindmark, Bradley Plehnert (Jess), and Karli Plehnert; Great Grandchildren Breeanne Summers, Eldon Janke,
Hayley Stephenson, and Nash Lindmark; brother Abe Dyck; sister Freida Olfert; and numerous brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews. Tina was predeceased by her husband Heins and son in law Ken.
A graveside service was held at the Haneyville Cemetery on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Terry Belcourt officiating.
