Dee was born in Cardston, Alta. on Mar. 2, 1949.
Dee and her family lived in Cardston for about two years when they relocated to Stettler, Alta.
Dee was an active curious little girl.
She started school in Stettler Elementary and started figure skating.
As Dee grew older, she became very involved in sports.
She continued her education going to the Stettler Junior High School where she really got into basketball.
In Grade 9, she badly dislocated her knee and was wheelchair-bound for a while then on crutches.
Dee started high school at William E. Hay Composite High where she made many friends.
While in high school, she went to work part-time in housekeeping in the old Stettler Hospital.
She also worked part-time at the B/A Diner where the Dairy Queen is now.
Not long after finishing high school she met her future husband, a very nice young man named Gordon Pidoborozny.
After getting married, Dee and Gordon moved to Edmonton, Alta.
Soon after, Dee gave birth to a tiny sweet baby girl named Loralee Lynn Pidoborozny.
When Lori was about 11 months old, they moved home to Stettler.
Dee worked at a couple of part-time jobs but went back to work full-time at the Stettler Hospital.
Pretty soon, Dee gave birth to a baby boy who they called Shane Eric Peter Pidoborozny.
While working at the hospital, Dee became very active in the union for many years. Dee worked at the hospital for over 35 years.
She made many friends as she travelled throughout the province teaching proper sterilizing techniques.
Dee was a faithful sports mom as she attended all of her kid’s sporting events.
Dee was predeceased by her father Eric Erickson (Lief), mother Orpha La Dean Erickson, sister Penny Lee Erickson and two nephews Ryan Chapman and Ricky Chapman.
She is survived by her loving husband Gordon Pidoborozny; daughter Loralee Spiak (Larry); son Shane Pidoborozny (Heather McLean); mother-in-law Sophie Pidoborozny; two sisters: Connie Erickson (Ted Gowler) and Wendy Erickson; brother-in-law Ron Pidoborozny and many extended family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends at a come and go social was held at the Stettler Funeral Home on Thurs., Nov. 14, 2019, from 2 – 4 p.m.
