Notice was given Feb. 6 2024 for a petition to recall Doug Booker as Mayor of Donalda.
The residents have lost confidence in Mayor Booker due to mismanagement of money, bullying and not following bylaws.
Since September 2023 Mayor Booker, Deputy Mayor Rick Nekdon and Coun. Derek Williams have removed ‘gallery time’ and at the Nov. 21 council meeting council introduced a policy not allowing anyone to voice their concerns or the RCMP will be called.
Mayor Booker has been asked three times to resign and he refuses.
There was a building permit issued to a business in Calgary on property in Donalda that they didn’t own.
There is no transparency between council and the community.
The CAO has referred to the community as “uneducated” when it comes to the LUB. Council tried to push it through without answering any questions. Mayor Booker said, if you don’t like it then move.
