Dwight Nagel, a Parkland Regional Library (PRL) representative, attended the regular Castor town council meeting on Feb. 26.
Nagel, who is a library board member, a previous municipal councillor and a former RCMP officer, gave a presentation on PRL and explained how libraries are funded, how they operate and the effects they have on community members.
Council found the presentation very informative as this is the first opportunity council has had to host a representative from PRL.
Managing risk
The Town of Castor has received funding of $50,000, from the Municipal Asset Management Program (MAMP) of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
The funds will be used to manage risk and building resilience through the asset management program.
