Dorothy Pals passed away at Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital Extended Care on May 4, 2020 at the age of 93. 

She was born on March 8, 1927 to John and Mary Grove and was the third of six children. 

Raised in the Sullivan Lake area, 14 miles south of Castor, Dorothy attended Sullivan Lake School and in 1946 she married Leo Pals.

They farmed eight miles south of Castor on the Burgee Ceflo place. 

To this union, they were blessed with four children, Charlotte, Doreen, Norman and Gordon. 

Leo and Dorothy enjoyed operating a mixed farm and in retirement, snowmobiling, floor curling, board games and most of all fishing and camping.

Dorothy was an active member of South Castor Unifarm, Ladies Auxiliary to the Legion and an active member of the Castor Snowmobile Club.

Dorothy is survived by daughter Charlotte (Lawrence), son-in-law Jim Ainsworth, sons Norman (Laurie) and Gordon Pals, grandchildren Carol (Terry), Doug (Shelley), Carma (Jon), Janelle (Blake) and Andrea (Drew).

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Logan, Brock, Brina, Anelise, Travis, Sawyer, Nolan, Daria, Tayler, Toni, Kyren, Dane, Zachery and William as well as brother Ken (Dorothy) Grove, sister Edna Kneller; brother-in-law Roy (Barbara) Pals and Louie Pals, along with numerous nieces and nephews, other family and many good friends.

She was pre-deceased by parents John and Mary Grove, husband Leo Pals, daughter Doreen Ainsworth, granddaughter Deanna Ainsworth, grandson-in-law Ken Hermus, three brothers Alfred, Stan and Donald Grove, sisters-in-law Louise, Elsie and Vi Grove and brother-in-law Oscar Kneller.

A private family service was held at Knox United Church on Fri. May 8, 2020 and a private graveside service will be held at Castor Municipal Cemetery at a later date.
